Amede Hungerford, CMO at Dell Boomi, shares his thoughts on the important role of the Software & Information Industry Association.
I recently had the honor of being elected to the board of directors of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) Software & Services Division. SIIA is a wonderful organization that makes an important contribution to our industry. I first became involved with the group in 2001 when I was asked to present at an SIIA conference on the topic of best practices in SaaS software marketing. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work closely with a wide range of SIIA members on diverse projects such as advocating the benefits of Cloud computing as an expert panelist at the SIIA All About the Cloud conference in 2012.
SIIA board members provide leadership, advocacy and critical market information to the software and services industry. We also develop and prioritize the Software & Services Division’s initiatives and determine the projects, activities and events that SIIA undertakes. This is important because our programs and activities help companies grow by providing industry and market insight and promoting networking and partnerships. Most important for me, the SIIA can directly influence product and service quality by providing marketing information and promoting best practices, case studies, networking, and business development opportunities that help companies create better roadmaps for their development teams.
I’m very excited about being able to contribute to SIIA’s mission, and if you aren’t already a member, I hope you’ll take a look at the terrific programs we offer.
